FireFly Printer Ecosystem
Enterprise hardware modernization solution connecting modern Android workflows with legacy industrial printing infrastructure. Developed in partnership with Microlab, a hardware development company.

The Problem
Large enterprises rely heavily on legacy dot-matrix printers for high-volume continuous stationery printing. However, these robust machines natively lack Bluetooth connectivity and modern Android SDKs, making it impossible for mobile field workers to print compliance-heavy tax invoices wirelessly without expensive proprietary equipment. Furthermore, the lack of modern APIs meant that integrating modern sales applications with existing legacy hardware was virtually impossible without massive infrastructure overhauls.
The Solution
Developed the complete FireFly ecosystem: a specialized B2B Android application coupled with a secure Next.js backend, created in partnership with Microlab. Working alongside custom Bluetooth adapters, the software acts as an intelligent bridge—processing documents on-device and streaming raw byte data directly to legacy hardware. This eliminated the need for tethered workstations, successfully driving enterprise hardware modernization by bringing mobile agility to legacy systems.
Enterprise B2B Capabilities
Architected specifically for robust commercial operations, featuring highly specialized capabilities tailored to large-scale fleet deployments.
Decentralized Offline Operations
Built for true field environments, the application features an intelligent offline grace period system. This guarantees that delivery drivers and warehouse staff can continue generating legally compliant tax invoices even during total network outages, syncing securely when connectivity is restored.
Enterprise Fleet Management
The backend infrastructure provides centralized administrative control over hundreds of field devices. This includes hardware fingerprinting to prevent unauthorized use, instant remote revocation, and segmented fleet monitoring.
Zero-Downtime Over-The-Air (OTA) Updates
Bypassing standard app store friction, the system utilizes a custom release gateway. This allows organizations to push highly customized, business-critical application updates directly to their fleets securely and instantaneously.
Bespoke Hardware Synergy
Through tight collaboration with Microlab, the software is engineered to interpret and capitalize on the unique behavioral quirks of proprietary Bluetooth SPP adapters, achieving a level of print stability impossible with generic market solutions.
